Blue Caboose Station
 Repairs, Restoration, Rebuilding & Re-purpose

About
We repair, restore, rebuild, and re-purpose.  At Blue Caboose Station we feature vintage items, and antiques and treasures for your home and office.  One day we might be working on an old forklift, and another day it might be refinishing an old trunk or an antique railroad cart table.  Between the two of us, we have over 50 years experience in repair of antique cars, furniture, boats, and planes and vintage machinery.   We are passionate about what we do, and our craftsmanship shows in the quality of our work.  Our beautiful workshop is coming along and we have started numerous projects since the get go.  Both Bruce and myself (Kaye) strongly believe in reusing old items and re-purposing them, this includes everything from old cars and trucks, to planes and tractors.  Our items have character and stories behind them.  We love the stories and the character.   Take a look and be in touch, you might find that treasure you have been searching for.

Blue Caboose Station is the home of two 1959 Boston & Maine Railroad Cabooses.  From a life long dream of a young boy to own a caboose, that wish came true in 2015 when the then owner accepted his offer to purchase them from their resting place in Deerfield, MA.
Bruce then designed a dolly to move them, out of an old set of tractor trailer axles.   The two cabooses sit on track next to our workshop, designed by Bruce to mirror the old Boston & Maine Train Station in Amherst, where Amherst Farmer’s Supply currently exists.  Our workshop is where some of the magic happens, transforming metal and wood to cool, unique items for your home.

One of my passions is refinishing old steamer trunks.  For the past 25 years I have refinished over 300 trunks.  Great for storage solutions and beautiful decorative accents, trunks are a main staple at Blue Caboose Station.  We are always working on trunks, from true flat tops to dome tops, to low profile cabin trunks.  All our trunks date from the mid 1860’s to 1910.  Take a look at our On Going Projects Tab to see what we are working on.  Trunks make excellent wedding, housewarming, and graduation gifts.  They are functional as well as beautiful providing much needed storage and a special place to keep your most prized treasures.  Past customers have used them for storing their children’s keepsakes, or as a space for military mementos.

Love it, love it, love it!! It is beautifully refinished, quickly shipped and well packed.

I was so excited when I found this beautiful trunk restored by Kaye and Bruce. She was very quick to respond and knowledgeable about the trunks. The trunk is just as described- actually better! If I can find a space would definitely purchase another trunk from them!

Maryann D. – Artesia, NM
When Kaye was finished with the restoration, the trunk had been completely transformed to drop-dead gorgeous! It is now sitting in my living room (as a side table for my sofa) with a glass top to protect it, and visitors never fail to comment on how beautiful it is. I can’t say enough good things about Kaye and the whole process.
